What brand and type of accessories would you recomend for an Illusion-X tower? I am having a hard time finding lights and speakers and racks for the Illusion. Any links would be great!

Check this thread out as it discusses speakers for the illusion, in short get the bullets. Lights are a WOM imho since most places it's illegal to use them and boarding at night.

I just purchased bullets and installed them last week.  Look great, sound great, and the folks at Warlocks were 1st class.

I'm split between the NVS Addictions and the Bullets. What size amp are you using with the bullet speakers? How do the speaker wires run through the mount surfaces of the speaker can and the tower? Got any pics?

Thnaks.

Woody,

What tower?

The difference I've noticed between the NVS and the Bullets is:

NVS:

Needs a lot of power

Sound Like hell in the boat, sound great behind the boat.

BIG

$$$

Bullets:

150w a speaker will be sufficient

Sound great in the boat, can be heard behind the boat

Look great and not real big and clumsy.

Thanks for feedback...

The bullets are certainly more cost effective. I just wish I could here them both before I make the final decision. The CFO like the bullets.

Best thing to do is check them out at the boat show. I have heard the NVS behind a boat, and I heard them at the show. The project sound, but if your underneath them....look out.

We listen to the bullets all the time. They sound good at any volume.

Thanks guys, are the bullet speakers difficult to install? I want speakers that dont require me to drill a hole in my tower, makes my hands sweaty just thinking about it! P.S.- Whats your opinions on the skylon and boss speakers, also what brand are the bullets? Do you reccomend the bullets as the best?

They're not difficult at all. The wiring is all there in the tower & Warlocks will set you up so that it's simply a matter of attaching everything. When they sent mine, it was a matter of taking off the speaker from the can & putting the bolt through the inside of the can to the tower mounting hole, as well as hooking up the wires (there are 2 holes in the can, 1 for the mounting bolt & 1 to fish the wires through). Then put the speaker back on & it's all done. Talk to Jaime, he'll make sure that you have what you need. Oh, & be sure to get the components in the Bullets, they sound amazing.

Bullets were very easy to install and fit the existing factory mounts on the illusion. No need to drill holes. I'm using a kicker 850 to power them. We have not had them on the water yet, but we sure got the neighbors attention when we tested them in the driveway.

Jaime is the owner of the stereo shop called Warlocks, home of the bullet speakers.
