That belongs to a really good friend of mine and a member here. The boat and car are VERY nice. He shows them both together at car shows. Up until a couple of years ago the boat had 0 hours on it.

The Calloway motor blew at around 50 hours, he expects it was running too lean. Our dealer here put in a new hammerhead motor (Malibu didn't warranty the Calloway since it was out of warranty on years old) and built an engine stand with the extra engine cover mounted on it that he talks about in the ad. It is signed by the Malibu people that were on the original project. This boat sat on a East coast Chevy dealer's showroom floor for most of it's life. It was headed to Barrett-Jackson when my friend bought it. He bought it with 0 hours and put it on our lake here. This was the #1 hull and the only one that was a Grand Sport.

Cool boat, for sure.

Pretty ironic that a Callaway would be running lean. You'd think they would be cramming as much gas & air as possible in the intake of that thing.

Callaway made the motor and Indmar tuned it, they all tended to blowup sooner or later. Too many chefs in the kitchen or something.

They did look cool though.

Yea, I remember what a clusterf*** it was. Considering all the other successes that Callaway has had, it's really disappointing that this one wasn't.

The matching Grand Sport theme is cool in itself. Malibu could have just used an LT1 & it would have done just fine.
