08 vlx with 320 engine. Drained block and manifolds but didnt do anything with the v-drive. What kind of damage is expected. Was pulled 1200 miles. Dont know if the bouncing around will help get some water out. Didnt have time to search old post for this info.

Depends on how much water was left in v drive. Takes 5 minutes to disconnect the clamp and pull the hose off. Might as well go do it now. You probably also cracked your water strainer and filter, which if you vlx is like my wakesetter, is right before the v-drive. If the vdrive did crack, then yes it's going to be expensive to fix. Used vdrive go on ebay for 1-2k.

I was just discussing this with my dealer as I just installed Perko Flush Pro. The only place to fit it is after the v-drive therefore using the flush pro I cannot drain my V-drive. However watching the guy winterize my boat (before the flush pro was installed) he disconnected the hose after the v-drive but it really doesnt allow for drainage of the v-drive. My dealer tells me that there is really no water that acumulates in the v-drive it simply passes through. I think you have nothing at all to worry about!
