Hey guys, I just bought an 05 vlx. The shift knob is missing and I was just wondering how big the stock isotta shift knob is in diameter. It seems like it may be bigger than the standard black ball.

I checked skidim, they have a black ball, mahogany, and a few assorted steel ones. doesn't look like the malibu black leather and chrome one. I was shying away from the black knob and was trying to find as close to the original as possible. I found a few on ebay that would be a good approximation but they are around 2" in diameter.

That isotta knob is a special italian knob from Malibu. You might have to get it from a dealer. Try Bake's or Smooth Water Sports.

Yeah, I saw bakes. 92$ just seems a bit steep for a knob. the non silver one is 160+. Let's just say that buys a lot of gas. That is why I was looking for the approximate size so I could get something similar without paying a fortune.

In case this helps, I changed the original for a MOMO one as couldn't get the Isotta in Mex. Good quality and the style fits well. Here for your reference:

I made a small adaptor with the lathe.

The matching isotta shift knob is the viper model. I picked up my matching blue one in "05" for around $50, back then I had to order it from Italy. Bakes has an adapter to make the install easy.

Thanks for the link and picture. This is on my short list of upgrades. Another thread indicated that you could get the factory/dealer to replace that Morse throttle lever with the cool isotta throttle with the chrome lever and nice knob. I checked with the factory and had not luck. I really don't care for the plastic knob on the one that is currently in my boat.
