Carpet Cleaning?

Recommended Posts

That's how I do it. Pressure washer with soap then a good rinse and I try to spray against the grain (my carpet is matted down). Then I brush the pile up and turn on some fans. I love it when the carpet is clean and not smooshed.

That's what I forgot to do...cleean the carpets. Well, that will be my spring project. Car wash pressure washer here I come.

I did mine last spring with the carpet softner idea and it definitely helped it from matting down as quick.

I went at mine with a bristle brush and warm bucket of oxyclean and fabric softener. Scrubbed till it foamed up good, then shopvac'ed. Repeated with just water till it ran clean. Carpet looked great for about four days, then it was right back to being matted down. Judging from the color of the water in the shop vac, though, I definitely got a lot of dirt out. One of the trials of actually using the boat (with kids) I 'spose.

EDIT: I've also pulled through the car wash and used the pressure washer on the carpet. I liked the results of the bristle brushing protocol mentioned above a lot better.

I don't even use the soap. Just pressure wash it and suck the water out with a shop vac. This was recommended to me by our local dealer and it works great.
