Best wake for wakeboarding

Need a little help. I sold my 2003 vlx last year and was looking to buy a newer Malibu. I rode behind an 08 lsv last year and it was a totally different wake. Not sure what to buy now. We mostly wakeboard but we do surf a lot also. The wakeboarding wake is the most important thing at this point. Should i buy and older boat or go new? Going to the Atlanta boat show Friday.

Your asking an almost impossible question, everyone has different opinions of what is the best wake. I prefer the VLX current or '05-'08 MY as oppose to the LSV. The LSV is wider and requires more weight up front than the VLX. But surfing wise the LSV is better. You need to ride behind each model and decide what fits your riding style the best.

I ride behind an 08 VLX with the center and both rears filled and its perfect.. i prefer the feel of my wake over a pals x star with full ballast.

the lsv was wider and a totally different shape. Do you know if the pre 08 lsv hull has a wake similiar to the older vlx's?

Was it a 23 LSV or 25? I wouldnt think the 23' would be pretty similar to the 21' VLX

The '04-'07 LSV's had wider wakes and were not like the VLX of that same time. The wake was very rampy but was good with a fair amount of extra ballast. I haven't ridden behind a '08+ LSV.

After talking to the pro's they suggested going with a pre 09 vlx and a pre 08 lsv for wakeboarding or other option is the Axis A22. Really liked some of the new features though. and the search is on for a 07 lsv.
