Engine problem

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've got an Indmar 335 moosoon. When i start it, i sometimes hear a little 'click' and after a few times it start properly. Some of you have mentionned that it might be my Starter Solenoid that is on the way out and some of you have said it could be the ingnition coil. Since im no expert, what is the difference between the 2? and how do i know which one is broken (there's a big difference in price between the 2)

Thanks!

Phil

borrow a voltage tester and make sure you are getting 12 v to the starter, that will rule out loose connections and corrosion quickly. Starters usually wear out before ingition coils, so that is probably what the problem is. You can always pull the starter out and take it to an auto parts store or mechanical shop for them to test it. If the starter is the problem find someone to rebuild it if your strapped for cash.

during the no start condition does the engine spin or are you just hearing that click?

the ignition coil isn't your problem if the engine does not spin.
