Impeller replacement

Recommended Posts

Not having replaced our impeller before, is there a gasket that needs to be replaced also? If so, what type (paper, rubber, etc)?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Skidim sells the individual impeller gasket too There were a bunch of threads on how often to change the impeller, but if want to inspect the impeller and change the gasket without having to spend the cash on a new impeller, just buy the gasket from skidim.

Interesting question and one that I've wondered about for awhile. Because you will already be employing the bolt stretcher, it makes sense to me that the sky hook should be swapped out. YMMV

It's very important to employ a bolt stretcher. You don't want your bolts to get a cramp and break down on you at an inopportune moment. Biggrin.gif

Yeah, thanks a lot, Mike. That just reminded me that I need to pick up a left-handed metric crescent wrench. Which, as you know, are not cheap. If only the bolts on the port side were right-handed SAE. Mad.gif
