Need help putting engine back together

I got my engine back from the mechanic, and everything's going back together pretty smoothly with two exceptions:

1) There are two wires coming off of the wiring harness at the back of the engine that I can't figure out where to connect.

Unknown wires

2) I can't figure out how to route the throttle and transmission cable without putting a serious kink in them.

Throttle and transmission cable

If someone can help me with these two issues I would be forever grateful!!!

Thanks,

Jeff

The wires with the insulator are for the neutral safety switch and the other plug looks like the transmission tempreature switch. If you lift up the entire ECM bracket, you should find the neutral switch and the trans temp switch on the top of the trans near the shift arm.

Yep, I looked up under the ECM bracket and saw where they were supposed to connect. The only trouble is, with both wires (the one with the plug and the one with the two ring terminals) there is no clear indicator of which way they should be plugged in. I'm hoping that means that it doesn't matter? All of the other plugs in the wiring harness that have more than one wire have a plug that can only be plugged in one way.

I believe the cables come down low on the starboard side and the throttle cable loops around the backside of the engine basically doing a180 degree loop and then hooks up. Trans cable should make a gentle s bend up to the attachment point.

It's like when you were a kid building models boats and cars. You always have left over parts. You then put them in a box in case you ever need them. Later on you end up with a set of .50 calibers on a Chevy Nova.

Neither of those connections are polarity sensitive. It doesn't matter which way they are connected.
