ACME Prop Repair?

Recommended Posts

I have an ACME 537 that needs some repair. Does the factory do repairs, or do I need to find someone local?

Does anyone have an ACME contact person?

The factory doesn't fix props. Talk to the folks at Acme and they will recommend someone in your area. Other than that places like Tacoma propeller is very good as well as the prop shop. Both are local to me and I'd recommend either to anyone.

I'm in Angola, IN and took my prop in to the dealer and he sent it to someone in MI. It took less then a week to turn around and it only cost me around $100 and it looked great. I can get you the name of the place if you are up in our area. I would have to call the dealer.

Acme does have a prop repair service but they send it out. Give them a call 1-888-661-ACME and they will send you a return number. I have heard their service is competitively priced (and do a good job)... I have not gone through ACME for a repair.

My prop went in twice and is still not right. vibration is still present and the wake is washy and really turbulant. Is this normal after repair?

Definitely not. The prop should be back to its original form, minus the grooves in the blades.

I have the acme 231 and there wasn't even a hint of vibration before. I also had the driveshaft, strut, rudder, wedge, and 1 tracking fin replaced. My surf wake is horrible, the rooster and wash when wakeboarding is nasty, and the wake is not crisp. Is this all do to the prop?

I ended up sending the prop back to ACME for the repair. Took about 10 days turn time.

They actually gave me a quote from my picture of the prop and held to it.

Total repair was $125, plus shipping.

Prop looks good, but I did not run it before pulling the boat for the last time this year.

It will be on for the first run in April / May.

doubt it. You said you had the wedge repaired? The rudder too? Sounds like you did quite a bit of damage. is the wedge the same ? does your rudder have play in it?
