i picked up a new windshield from malibu for my 2002 23 lsv. i have removed the old windshield. i am wondering if there is an easy way to install the new one? i have heard it is not too easy to line it all up? is there a DIY anywhere on this or has anyone done it that could give me some tips?

i will post pictures as soon as i get it on and the new tower installed.

thanks crew.

The only tips I can think of are to measure and measure some more. All these boats are hand made so there will be small imperfections in all measurments, find a center point for your measurments (bow light or ski pilon) to use to find the center of YOUR boat. Also dry fit the windshield on to make sure it will look good in the "centered" location and all parts work as advertised bofore making any permenent marks on your Bu'.

Good luck cant wait to see the pics.

I've put windshields on other boats and it's not that bad. Make sure you tape all the edges of the frame cause you'll scratch the gelcoat bad without it. I put tape every where until all the holes are drilled. You're going to need a helper to make things a lot easier and prevent damage. Put the windshield together and on the boat, check your gaps and that the walkthrough is just right. mark and drill, remove most of the tape and install. I take the tape off the sharp edges as late as I can. You probably have already installed the windshield but maybe this will help someone else. I also through bolt when possible with nylocs instead of screws.

Definitely a two person job. If you're using the old frame it should line up. Tape is a good idea so you don't scratch the gel coat. And no beer till it's done then a cold one is fine.
