Gas Cap O-Ring

Mine is a bit old and needs replacing. Any ideas what size to replace with? 2000 SSLXI.

In the rc boat world we use o rings made from a product called VITON. they do not shrink, swell, fall apart. see if tyou can find them in the size you need for your gas cap. you will love it. they dont stick when left in one place for periods of time like the rubber ones due. just cant go wrong with them.

i've had both of mine break in the past year. i went to home depot and went to the bathroom fixture/replacement section and found the biggest 'O' ring they had. it was actually slightly smaller than the one that had broke, but when i stretched it, it fit just fine. i think i got a multi pack for $3 or $4.

When mine snapped, I went to the auto parts store and started combing the shelves. I think I ended up with a multipack of thermostat o-rings, that came in various sizes. There were at least 2-3 in the pack that would have fit.
