tower lights wiring

Ok crew...I have the tower lights mounted on my illusion and i have relays for the lights. If I wire the lights direct...not problem they work. When I put them on a relay...no power. I have seen a relay diagram and follow it and still no power. There is also like a little jump wire with this metcraft kit. Anybody know where to connect this to?? Help!!

Does your relay test good?

When you put power to the specified terminals (typically 85 & 86), do you get a completed circuit between the other terminals (30 & 87)?

Does the relay work when you hook up the wire to the lights to 87a without the switch on?

Is the switch positive switched or negative? That is, usually in a car you are running + throught the switch to the relay, and the other side of switching wires is grounded (the low amp wires). On the 2008, throught the LCD switches, it is negative switched, so you have to run a continuous 12+ to the relay and then the switched side grounds it. Since I don't know how the 2005s are wired (other than they don't have the LCD panel) that is about all I can offer up for advice.

If its a normal + switched relay set up then sounds like your switch circuit is suspect.
