GoPro Vid

We rented a cabin at Priest Lake with some friends in August and one of them brought his GoPro, what a kick. He had just picked up a harness and waterproof case so you could wear it on your chest. Here is a video I put together, haven't done this much so I hope it works out. If the sound is gone then DRM may have something to do with that. - Cheers

Edit-hmm, working on this, didn't like YouTubes embed link in the media tag... Figured it out...

Cool vid, I can't wait to get my GoPro! Nice skiing by the way too!

Found the song.. I Love Shazam!

HEy thanks. Still getting used to the Annex. Good side was pretty easy, offside needs some more work, plus I don't get out too much then get a big dose in one week.

BTW that is about 34 mph.

awsome video. We tried using a GoPro HD in Coeur D'Alene 2 weeks back, but i managed to rip part of my FAE off, which put the boat out of commission for riding.

How did you like Priest? Which cabins did you stay at? We have a place in Coolin and try to spend as much time as possible up there in the summer. Looks like you had some great water! The only issue with Priest, is that the storms can come in very quickly up there, usually around 4pm. but after they pass, it is great water.

Hey thanks everyone.

I have been going Priest Lake since I was a kid, and keep going back with my family and two families of my buddies that went with me when I was a kid. Then we stayed near Hills at a private (well leased) cabin, so that should tell you how I like it. This year we stayed up on the north end (about 10 minutes from Elkins), found it on the net. The prior 3 times we stayed in the south end, about 3 miles from Coolin in Steamboat Bay, of which I like the location better. Next year we need to find a new spot. The cabin we had this year we want to pass on (not bad, but..) and I would like to, but don't have to, get back to the south end. The wind came up every day, so you had to get out early. I have been there also when it doesn't get too windy in the middle of the day, but that is rare.

let me know next time you go up there. we always take our boat and try to do as much riding as possible (somewhat dependent on the little ones though, and if i can convince family members to watch them :)).

We rarely seem to make it past the sandbar in steamboat. :) If we do go past it, it is usually to Cavanaugh's or Kallispell.

I am trying to convince LilJohn to get over there as well, as he seems to have some family connection

I am putting one of these on my Christmas list for sure!

:plus1: I like the self-contained setup and the fact it's waterproof. The reason I don't use my current helmet cam more is because I need to carry a camcorder for it to record to and the wires are a pain.

Cool video...I'm curious what you used to edit it? I've already been planning on learning some video editing over the holiday weekend. I've got a MacBook and wondering if I should update it to the Leopard OS from my current 10.4.

Windows Movie Maker. It's free. I has a great price/value! It is lightweight but works for what I need!

Edit- I did have to search a bit to find a video codec for it that would take the MP4 format the GP saves in.(or maybe that was from the handheld camera I don't recall??) Anyhow, it is easy enough to find them.

Ummm. Priest Lake is always windy and cold. Relatives have a cabin up there, been going every year of my life. Would love a pull behind the VTX. I'll pull you behind our 2005 X2 and we'll determine who has the better wake:) Hard to tell from that video, but I'm leaning towards your boat.
