HO Waterski Binding Replacement

Recommended Posts

I have an HO Truth, circa 2002 or 2003 with Venom Bindings. A friend of mine came over for some early AM runs and forgot his ski, so I let him use my Truth. After his run, when I went to put it on, I noticed the front boot was torn near the laces. I suppose I can't blame my friend for this, due to the age, although he did not loosen up the laces, as I always do and he didn't think he needed soap to get into it, until I said...You need soap to get this on???

In any case, I don't see too many Venom Bindings out there and I cannot find any parts for them, so it's probably time to replace them both. BTW, I was very happy with my Venoms, as far as comfort and performance and I really don't want to drop $300 in bindings, because I am seriously thinking about getting a Syndicate A1 and I'd rather put that money towards that purchase.

  • Any thoughts on the Animal or Level Bindings?
  • Will these fit the old mounting holes for the Venom Bindings on my Truth?
  • I am looking for Large Bindings, by the way, if anyone has any deals.

By the way, if/when I get the Syndicate A1...No one will ever use it but me! It seems like every time I let someone use my ski, something goes wrong, usually it's a handle ding from some schmuck who can't get up and hangs on too long.

Scour the Craigslist ads all winter utilizing the H.O. ski name and other related terms.

Expand your search to a wider radius than your home town.

Somebody will be dumping a waterski because they are (foolishly, in my opinion) moving to wakeboarding.....

Or bought a ski beyond their level. Or are moving on to surfing. Or moving up to the latest most expensive gear they can buy. Or selling their boat to buy a jet-ski. Or whatever.....

You will be able to buy the whole ski with bindings cheaper than you will find the bindings.

Plus you are widening your search because you can use any ski size or model within the H.O. range.

I like my Venom bindings, also.

Check in with Wiley's, they had some parts / pieces I was able to pick up for my approach bindings that they had lying around. They will try to talk you into a set of Wiley high-wraps so be forewarned...

You can try No-wake - they'll likely have some venom bindings or overlays available.

The overlay cost about $20 when I bought mine there a while ago - they may still have some.

I know they had some venom bindings a few weeks ago, but don't know how much they'd want for them.

:plus1: I got parts for Ho's from them. I am now on Wiley's and don't see using an other. Easy to get parts but then I have never had to fix my Wiley's. I get a new ski every 8 years or so weather I need it or not. ;)

For used : Ski-It-Again

For new : Adrenaline Watersports has 2010 Syndicate A1's for $650.

Damn! I just bought a used one for close to that.

SkiBum, you can switch to Animals and not have any issues with the plates matching up. You can even get some Animal overlays and put them on your Venoms. I'm pretty sure they're the same shape with a stiffer rubber durometer.
