This message has popped up on my dash a few times, and all the gauges on my 05 wLSV go dead.

Do you guys have any idea what this means?

What pops up?

The word "ECU" ?

ECU is an acronym for electonic control unit. But, it could be the unit that runs the guages or the fuel system.

Romi,

ECU displayed on your LCD is showing a loss of the CAN data from the engine. As yours is apparently intermittent, I would surmise that it's possibly a connection issue. At the plug, or an intermittent ground in the data line from the engine to the MMDC. This is a low voltage line, and it takes very little resistance to drop the voltage.

Thanks Peter and Pete...

It is a little scary to see your volts and oil pressure drop to nothing.

Once I power off and start again everything is fine. I was just curious what it was. Thanks again.
