My Friends Rule

There have been a few Threads posted on here lately about how some people cant find a third, cant get people to chip in for gas etc... I thought I would share a quick story.

My buddy who typically goes out wakeboarding with me everytime I go is a real good friend of mine. We usually just take turns filling up the boat. This year the way the world has turned whenever he went out with me I didnt need gas, and I know he has felt bad about not contributing... I have been talking about getting some ballast bags and setting up my Skier like Skier88's for about a year. Well I just got an e-mail with a conformation # from wakemakers from my Buddy, he ordered me 2 V drive sacs, 2 1200 GPH pumps and all the quick connects I need :yahoo:

How cool it he!

He has a boat of his own and knows how much time, effort AND Money goes into keeping a boat on the water.

God bless nice caring (boat owning) Friends!

Now that's cool. My most reliable third just hooked up my entire boat and the trailer with LED's. That reminds me - I need t post some pics of it. He's the man and also knows it isn't cheap to keep a boat running. He's always chipping in with time or buying stuff for the boat. Good stuff! Rockon.gif Glad to hear your gonna be rocking the Skier's wake. Yahoo.gif It is certainly a good one with two V-Drive sacs. Thumbup.gif

Its good to have friends with money!

One of my friends told me "the next best thing to owning a boat is a friend who owns a boat".

So true. I find that the ones who own their own boat are the most generous in offering help. Always appreciated.

Agreed 100%, anyone want to be my friend LOL.gif

Hilarious ROFL.gif I totally agree!! I good friend that chips in for accessories or gas is definitely the one to take care of. I've been out so many times and get no help. It's to the point where it is my fiance and I. Now if only Ohio law allows dogs to be spotters.....then I may have to train the dog for the boat!

Nice! That stuff is not cheap.

My boating buddies got me a surf rope for Christmas last year. Not too spendy, but I thought it was the coolest gift.

I have a (new) good friend with a 98 Sanger. A couple of weekends ago my family and I were pulling off the ramp from a day on the water when my friend showed to get on the water. It was he and his young son. It was obvious he needed a third. My wife looked at me and said "go with him". I went from my boat to his boat and my family drove home. Made for a great day.

So true. This just happened again this weekend for us. I have a buddy that just sold his boat this year, he comes with us as a family a couple times a year and we get together alot on early morning weekends just a few of us and he always brought gas when it was just us guys, bought a surfboard a few years ago that stays on our boat ( he had a stearndrive boat ) he's a machinist and has mad me alot of stuff for the boat, including some stainless exhaust turn downs!! :yahoo: This weekend we had a big trip planed and last minute he made a new tower stand for the titan tower after hearing we had to fold the tower down to get under one of the bridges, then showed up for a few hours Saturday with a brand new OBrien 5150 Rush, and a wake skate, and left them for the weekend for us to use. Needless to say I never tell him to bring anything.

My new good riding buddy picked up some parts for me while he was at the dealer on Saturday. He also grabbed a new wake line for me and even scored me a cool Malibu sticker for my truck. Handed me everything before we got on the water yesterday then we proceeded to have a great day of boarding and surfing. The funny thing is...I just met this guy the weekend prior and now he is my most reliable boating buddy as well as becoming a good friend. It is tough to find great people like this but for those of you who haven't been this fortunate yet keep the faith you will find someone eventually.

Having a friend with a boat...

I bought a boat, then moved to the lake. Now my friend brings his VLX over 3 times a week. Mine stays in the garage most of the time. Irony, I suppose.
