Floating Coolers

Some friends and I will be tubing down a lazy river for 4-5 hours over Labor Day weekend and intend to bring a hearty supply of beverages along with us.

:wine:

The place we're tubing from does rent tubes to float a cooler, but the tube will only float an 18 qt cooler and it costs $12 per float.

At that rate, I was thinking I might be able to pick up 1-2 larger floating coolers and not have to worry about renting.

I've done a quick google search and have come up with a few options, but I thought I'd turn to the crew and see if anyone has any personal recommendations.

I just did one of these floats down the Coeur d'Alene River a couple weeks ago. But rather than an inflatable raft, I used a paddleboard, surfed up & down the river any which way I wanted. I could sit down or lay down on it as needed.

And had one of these in tow:

Was a great time!

HEhe, not even close. The last wakeboard I owned was a Hyperlite Shapiro Honeycomb (how long ago was that?). Never have owned a wake surf board. And have never owned a tube!

When I was young and poor folk we would tie a water cooler in a regular old inner tube. Worked fine as frogs' fur.
