Ok guys I have a 98 Malibu Sunsetter LX and I need some help with it, The boat runs great for about 2-3 hours then it just feels like someone put the choke on or somthing and the boat starts bogging down and backfiring? Anyone know what this could be? All help is greatly appreciated.

I also replaced the fuel filter and changed the oil and neither seemed to help the problem!

maybe vapor lock, does it run better if it sits for awhile?

Yes, it seems to run better after sitting but it's weird because sometimes I'll take the boat out and it will mess up after like an hour and a half and then other times it will mess up after 6-7 hours of use.

Check your distributor cap. It may have a hairline crack and it gets just a bit of moisture buildup and shorts out the contacts.
