Currently own 1996 Tige dd. Just started looking @ Bu's. So far impressed with fit & finish of Malibu. Kind of leaning towards a used boat between 02 & 06 v drive. Really like Illusion tower & MLS.

We mainly use our boat for boarding but definately want to do some surfing. Also concerned with ride in chop as our lake can get rough from time to time. This factor is leaning towards atleast 22' boat. I'm not familiar with all Malibu's line so any advice is greatly appreciated. Which Bu do you think fits these needs?

I would say you're leaning in the right direction especially with buying used. Just like a car, let someone else take the depreciation hit. And welcome to the Crew.

I have seen a couple Sunscapes that looked nice. one was a 2004 loaded(200 hour) w/ Illusion tower for $29000. Does that sound about right?

Do these year Bu's have snap in carpet? would be a plus, but not a deal breaker. Also, what motor should I be looking for? Thanks again.

$29k is a pretty good price for that boat assuming it is in good shape.

No snap in carpet on these things unless you find a 25 LSV.

Monsoon or Hammerhead will the the most popular motors in those boats.
