Transom LED swim light dim/ not working

Recommended Posts

Pulled the boat out of the water last night and started cleaning it with the interior lights on. I hopped off the back of my swim deck and noticed that the right side LED swim light is very dim and not lighting up nearly as much as the one on the left side. All of the LEDS are lit up and are not blinking just not lighting up very bright. Anyone know where I should start with to troubleshoot this problem? I have tried wiggling some of the wires heading into that direction and turning the key on/off and switching the lights on/off but still not getting any brighter.

I'd check the voltage at the light and make sure you have a good 12VDC there. If not trace it back to find the bad connection. If you have 12V something is wrong with the light.

Hate to bring up an old thread but I had ANOTHER light under my swim deck go out... Anyone else having problem with the malibu lights from the factory getting water in them and going out? I think this time I will go with a different brand, A quick search brought up Aqua Leds... are these the ones to go with?

I just bought a set and will be installing them shortly. For the price I couldn't find anything better. I've powered them up and they are pretty damn bright but haven't installed/used them yet. The specs alone are far superior to the OEM lights.
