I am looking to purchase my first Malibu this Fall/Winter. Any thoughts about the quality of this boat for the price $23,995? It seems to be a bit higher than some others I have seen. Do the options 350, wedge etc add up ro a good value?

Here is basically the same boat for $16,500. Market value vs book value for boats is a hard one to figure. Any suggestions for a 15-25k price range.

I just bought 02' sporty in May and paid $16,000 for it and it is in very good condition, it all depends on what Book Value you are using and unless you have cash the only book value that counts is the one you financial institution uses for example my Credit Union booked my boat out at $18,900. As far as being high yes I think that is high for a 03' Sporty and now after having mine for a couple months, I would say this, if you are willing to go up to that amount I would look for more boat (different model) maybe older but definately more boat. We love our Sporty, but the things we don't love (mostly the lack of storage and probably the fact that its carburated are the two biggies) can easily be cured with every other model Malibu. At $16000 there aren't many options but at $24000 I feel you have options and these guys on here can help you in that search and what your looking for. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!! Malibu is the only boat to shop for and I wouldn't trade being a part of the Bu Crew for nothing

If you have any questions about the sporty you can PM me and I'll send you my number but the guys and gals on here will answer any qustions you got.

I have a 04 that I Ordered with lots of options

Some simple like a glove box, some expensive like the monsoon

It had to fit in the garage so the response was out

Point Im trying to make is you could probably get a very nice responce

for that kind of money. I would like to think my boat would sell for around that but Im pretty doubtful

ya, way too high. This is your first boat? Or you first malibu? What are you looking to do with it - are you a big time skiier? Or are you looking for a good family boat that is boat can do everything: ski, board, cruise...etc? For 25K you can get a boat that is more 'family orientated' than a sporty.
