PP Display issues

Recommended Posts

Howdy gang - It's been a few years!

My OEM PP display started to fail two years ago. While discussing with PP, I went ahead and upgraded to stargazer as I was told my display issues could be from a weak gauge along with the known depth issue. Now, the PP display is doing the same thing, again. It's inverting, flashing, going blank...etc etc. It's strange that it took two summers for this to happen with no issues the the first year in each of the two systems.

My understanding is that the depth finder causes these issues due to the RF entering the unshielded cabling of the PP. What has everyone done to resolve this issue? Are you using snap on torroids? What about the DF cabling... are you rerouting it or just moving it as far away as you can?

Just looking for some ideas before I climb under there and snap on 20 torroids.

Thanks!

Howdy

Back again for another summer of fun. I just found this post and wanted to give an update. I ran some snap on torroids to try to remove the RF from the shield of the wiring and routed it far away from the display cable.

It's just that simple to fix.
