86 Skier Mods

I have a '86 Skier with the floor under the drivers seat and a few other soft spots that need to be repaired / replaced. I'm looking for ideas / modifications that I might want to do while I’m repairing the floor. One mod I was considering is some sort of ballast in the back but I can't give up the seating. Has anyone modified or seen a skier that has sacks in the back and also seating. With space so tight, I was thinking of changing the observers seat from the L shape to a straight seat so getting by the engine cover would be easier. Another idea was to change out the barrel style driver’s seat for one that wouldn't take up so much room and might be a bolster seat. I've been searching the web for Malibu Skiers to see if I can get some good ideas but I'm not finding much. Any ideas, pics and suggestions would be appreciated.

I have seen someone close the back in like a playpen, putting an opening for a cooler right behind the motor cover, so when the cooler is removed you can open the motor cover.
