VTX/ VLX Diamond Hull Ski Wake

I have an 09 VTX Diamond Hull. One of my reasons for purchasing the boat was the reviews it received for its ski wake. This weekend I was out behind a 07 VLX Diamond Hull. I wasnt expecting much and was bracing myself for a nasty ski wake...I was wrong. I filled up the front ballast 1/4 - 1/2 full as I do in my VTX and the wake wasnt that bad..infact I am not sure the VTX is significantly better. Perhaps I had too much Baileys before my morning ski  but I am curious if anyone else has feedback on the ski wakes between the two. I know the wakeboard wake on the VLX is significantly better (or so I read) so perhaps the next boat should be a VLX?

I am behind both boats pretty frequently as I have a VTX diamond and another member of my family has a Sunscape LSV with a diamond which is essentially the same boat as a VLX diamond. Ski wise, all things being equal I think the VTX is a better boat. Wakeboard wise, all things being equal I think that the VLX would be the better boat. It is pretty close though, both boats do both very well. I would say if you need a little more space go with the VLX. We tow the VTX and actually like it being a little bit smaller and easier to tow and store. Hope that helps, I think either was will do what you want to do.

Thanks. What year is the Sunscape?

I hadn't heard that tip. I will have to try it because I have not been impressed with my VLX's ski wake. Of course I'm spoiled: My neighbor has a Mastercraft 190.

Cool trick eha? I fill my stock ballast 1/4 but may go to 1/2. I was out behind a friends vlx diamond hull and told them the same. They thought I was crazy but once they gave it a try they couldnt believe the difference.
