I ski on a very clear lake with not much rain. In the last four days the hydrillal has gone crazy. Anybody else having trouble.

We started a weed control or management on our lake last year. We have had good luck with the mil foil. the problem is now the Eel grass is doing very well. It was introduced by the DNR its called Kentucky eel grass and is more aggressive than the native species.

I'm not sure what's up with this thread but.... no "milf oil" problems on any of our lakes over here

The fact that I wasn't the only one thinking it doesn't make me feel any better about myself...

I have had to change the boat pattern for slalom to a J turn due to the hydrillal this year. Does anyone else just cut a path through the hydrilla in their boat pattern?

We've plowed thru it years ago on another lake. No problems, but that was with an outboard.

Funny how bad the word milfoil is, but how good the word becomes when you separate it to milf oil. I hope it's sunny this weekend.

We do. The milfoil is bad where we ski and we just run through it.

The lake that we have been using strictly for skiing has become totally infested this year. Its a small lake that we call " THE SANCTUARY" with hardly any traffic and the only one around that we can set up a course on without complaints. So needless to say me and my ski partners are extremely bummed because we know the DNR won't come in and harvest or treat it so we are left with trying to find another site that won't even come close to being as good, and its all because someone was too lazy to clean their trailer or empty the livewell.

it is the only reason i clicked on this thread

:plus1:

I was just going to say put a towel on the vinyl and you should be fine.

But seriously, clean you trailers and drain your bilge. Big fines around here for visible weeds and not pulling plugs. As it should be.
