It was really hot

Recommended Posts

Well over 100 degrees this weekend, and I left a vest on top of the motor enclosure and in the sunshine. When I moved it late in the afternoon, the glideskin on the vest stuck to the vinyl and left nasty black spots. I actually had to peel the vest off the vinyl. Any ideas on what to use to get the black spots off (and I am not talking little spots...these things are really ugly...I had to take a fingernail and scrape some of the rubber off to get down to just a stain...). I haven't tried anything yet--magic eraser maybe?? I don't want to take the color out of the vinyl, but I hope something will take it out!

Pete--you are the bomb! I had made arrangements to get the boat cleaned up with a friend that has all the goodies, and I hit the black with some Armor All Cleaner and with some elbow grease, and it all came off!! Looks almost new again!

He also has a Porter Cable buffer, and that thing made quick work of a wax job. We are experimenting with doing a patch on both sides with a polymer and the rest with a Carnuba wax. We will see which one holds up better. First impressions are that the polymer is much slicker than the Carnuba. Will report back soon. Again, thanks for the help!
