I have been trying to get my boat in for an oil change and the shop is always booked. I have decided to change the oil myself. I have purchased everything needed and read all the forums(which is a great help). I have just one question, what is the best way to tell the boat is level?? I would think a torpedo level on the valve covers would do the trick. Any other suggestions??

You are splitting hairs. Level means level in the water. Just make sure you are standing near the center of the boat while you check the oil.

My best guess would be a level sitting on the top of the gunnel or level on the top of the trailer fenders.

It's not that big of a deal.
