Need a new, more padded wakeboard handle. Any recommendations?

The wakeboard handle I've been using is about shot and I need a new one. It is a StraightLine handle, I'm not sure of the model. The rope on the handle is frayed and the rubber gripping is coming off. I'm looking for a handle with a little more padding on the grip. My hands are blistering because of this handle, partly because the padding is falling off and partly because the padding is super thin. Any recommendations for a handle with a little more padding? I don't need anything super fancy or expensive, but I want it to last longer than the one I have did (6 months!).

Thanks,

Matt

If you didn't have such a big, hardcore wakeboard crew you could get more than 6 months out of a handle. HaHa! Just kidding in reference to your previous post about no shows.

I have a Straight Line Amoeba handle that has good padding and grip and its going on 1.5 seasons of use with no signs of wear. One season equals about 120hrs on the boat (almost all wakeboarding). The Amoeba handle also has a replaceble center handle section so if you wear the paddling out you don't have to buy a hole new handle. I think I paid about $50-60 for it.

I think ours wore out so quick because we used it with the kneeboard and the handle holder on the kneeboard tore up the padding. Thanks, I'll look into the Amoeba!

LOL, sorry i dont have any info, but i use one of those super old ski ropes with the different colors that has no padding at all and i have rode for an hour STRAIGHT.

And how long of rope do you want?

My rope is still good. I just need the handle. You must have tougher hands than us or something. We started getting blisters when the handle came off down to the bare metal.

Something to keep in mind: The more padding on the handle, the quicker it will wear out/rip. If you're truly looking for one with plenty of padding, I'd buy the cheapest one that fits your needs.

We can never seem to make a handle last longer than a season and a half and all pitch in to buy the more expensive carbon fiber handles with minimal padding..... maaaaybe 200 hours if we're lucky with each handle

Besides your knee board tearing up the padding (which is probably the real cause. BTW, who kneeboards in this day and age?) anyway, if any of your flakey crew is wearing hard core ski gloves that have carbon or reinforcements in the palm, that's death right away to a fancy padded handle. Just my .02

The kneeboard is for some of the younger kids that go sometimes. I personally hate bouncing around on the stupid thing. No one wears gloves but that's good to know, Thanks!

I've had good luck with the Ronix handles. They are a little bit wider which helps when passing the handle. They are also thicker - cant stand the skinny ones. The padding seems to work for me. I believe it's a Ronix Totem. Check out ebay. You should be able to find one pretty cheap.
