Wheel weights

Recommended Posts

I just got new tires on my trailer and got them balanced. There are weights on the outside of the wheels. Anyone had any fly off and hit their boat or am I okay?

Yikes.

A good tire place would have known to balance the wheels only using weights on the inside.

Either way, the potential for damage is there.

And don't think the potential for them to come off is not there. Last time I bought a set of tires for my truck, I was driving down the interstate to check the balance job and it began to sound like my truck was making popcorn.

I took the truck back and made them use the sticky weights inside the rim and they have lasted 30K+ miles so far.
