Surfboard rack!

Recommended Posts

I know they have racks for the tower like they use for wakeboards but has anyone ever thought or knows about anyone that makes one which mounts under the tower bars below the bimini. I was able to figure out a way to use two bungee cords that wrap around the surfboard and strapped each one to the front and rear tower bars. I would like something a little more firm and I don't have a problem adding a surfboard rack but it would one, I guess if it comes down to it I'll buy one for each side but we don't surf that much on our boat.

Any ideas or comments would be great.

Thanks

Like this? I thought I had read somewhere that they had a mount for an Illusion tower, but I may be mistaken.

It would actually mount under the illusion tower bars so if the bimini us up you can still have access to it.

Looking through the website they have the concept I was talking about......I might need to give them a call.

Thanks

There is a girl on here that was using soft surfboard racks on her illusion in exactly the way you are. I can't remember the name of the rack, but they are designed to attach to the top of a car.

Here it isBecker Surf

68Slalom,

If you find something that works well please post it. That is a good idea! With my wakeboards hanging off the side of the tower and seeing them bounce around in rough chop I can't imagine a big surfboard there. I think the whole thing will eventually just pop off.

Yeah, I have a concept in mind but it means drilling into the center of the upper tower where the running light is and I'll wait until the last minute to do that unless some better ideas come up.

One other idea I had was to actually have a surfboard cover made with Velcro straps sued to it that would wrap around the tower bars so you just slip the board into the cover and it's suspended that way. I nice "tightly" fitted cover without any brackets showing would be more expensive but would look cleaner. That way the fins are protected from someone hitting it with their heads
