Number of air vents

Called malibu and ask how many air vents are they for a '95 sunsetter (open bow)...well they could not tell me. So I'll ask here...I think the boat should have one coming under the windshield on the driver's side and the passenger side. Mine has just the driver side vent and nothing on the passenger side even though it has the black box for one.I think the factory forgot to install it imo. The driver's side has a hose that stops in front of my feet with 2 hoses for the heater coming through the three inch hole. That only leaves about a one inch hole for all the air MPI motor to run and cool. It vapor locks constantly, even with a vapor lock kit installed...so I figure that the lack of air has to the problem.

I have a 1997 Sunsetter and mine has vents on both the passenger's and driver's side up front. Does your black box on the passenger side have a black vent hose running from it into the bilge? These vents in the front only function when the boat is moving forward. You should still have your blower sucking air out the back vent which will help prevent vapor lock when you're not moving.

If I had to guess a previous owner removed the hose on the passenger side, very simple to replace.

If you really want to solve vapor lock issues, installing vents into the motor box itself will help, along with running the blower.

no vent hose on passenger side and it has not been removed, I think I am going to install a blower on a vent up front also to aid in air movement at idle.
