Best Trailer Tires?

Recommended Posts

I know this gets discussed regularly here, for some reason I can't seem to access the Search function right now so thought I'd ask what the current consensus/experience is on which brand seems best. Been reading a lot of negatives on Goodyear Marathons which is what I currently have (now 5 years old), 6 years seems to be the magic number where the Marathons start to come apart. I do a lot of distance towing so this is of concern to me.

Had Marathons on my previous boat trailer and they did indeed start to crap out at 6 years, to that point though no problems and current batch to date has had no problems. Reading good things about Maxxim tires, anyone have experience with that brand? How about Carlyle? All input appreciated.

Thanks, Ed
