Battery Power Issue - New Battery and Good Alternator

Recommended Posts

Hey

Just installed a new battery into my Malibu Sunscape LSV because my battery wouldn't hold a charge. Still have the same problem. Tested the alternator and it was good.

Any ideas?

Is the battery dying over time while sitting? if so add a perco switch or disconnect the battery while it is being stroed.

Unhook your battery, throw a volt meter on it, then hook it back up and test it again. That will tell you if you have a draw on it somewhere.

Adding the switch would be an easy way to hide the issue assuming its a tiny draw...

like said above, sounds like you have something drawing on the battery. same can be done with a test light. remove the positive cable from the battery. hook the test light to the positive battery terminal and touch the point to the battery cable. if it lights up something is on and causing the draw on the battery.

That is a great trick that I completly forgot about!
