Injuries?

Anyone get banged up this year? I fractured my fibula a little over four weeks ago and haven't ridden since then. It's killing me that in the middle of the season, all I can do is drive and watch others ride. It sucks!

Torn labrum and rotator cuff in both shoulders last season. I have my front flip right tear and my "don't land gainers one handed" left tear. I had surgery on both last winter including three months of physical therapy each. It looks like the left needs it again. We'll see what the doc says on Wed.

40 years of watersports has gotten me the above, a double hernia, and two fractured ribs. Not too shabby!

Just some super sore muscles from a kick butt weekend on the water after 3 weeks off. I slalom skied quite a bit this weekend and I can't walk without limping today! LOL.gif

I hope you guys get healed up soon!

I had surgery to repair my left labrum in January of 09. I shouldn't complain. Being out 4 weeks is nothing compared to shoulder or knee injuries. I'm just not smart enough to get injured in the off-season.

I'm still banged up from last year, L-4/L-5 herniated disk and S-1 slipped 9mm forward. Because of this wakeboarding is out, only surfing and I just slalomed for the first time ever this weekend and I have muscles that are sore that were never before. I went up to my neighbor this weekend and shook his hand. I now have a new found respect for slalom skiers, it is friggen hard on you, WOW!

Tore MCL on first outing. Thankfully not bad. Stayed off the ski for a short time and used a brace. Started skiing with brace. I an out of the brace and my knee is feeling good no pain in the last two weeks! :yahoo:

I have not skied as many sets this year but getting a lot of outings in.

I had not tubbed in 3 years and decided to do so last Monday. I was only on it for 3 minutes before I seperated my left shoulder. I have never done that before and am surprised at how much it hurts. I was able to wakeboard on Sat and Sun but was very limited in what I could do. Hope to be slaloming again by Friday. I know that I should just let it heal by staying off of it for 3 weeks, but this is the nicest summer we have had in 5 years. Besides, someone has to keep the pharmaceutical companies afloat.

Was out with my son last Saturday. Near the end of the day he caught the wake with his board and hit the water HARD. Nothing broken but he tore something in his right knee. He’ll be on crutches for the next couple of months.

Had a hottie out with us last weekend. Great skier too! Broke her nose in 2 places, tubing of all stupid activities.

Should have stuck to the skis! Doh.gif Big time bummer. Hey just remember, the good news is you can still ski with a busted nose! Thumbup.gif

Tweaked my ankle up pretty bad this past weekend and I've been limping around since. I'm hoping to be back in limited action this weekend. I've figured out that healing at 31 is definitely a lot slower than it was at 20!

A few weeks ago I was riding a ripstick and collided with my 10 year old who was on his bike. And believe it or not, right behind me was my 4 year old daughter who plowed into us, on the ground, on her Barbie scooter. A dogpile in the driveway. Everyone got up OK, except me, I had taken some skin off my heel about the size of a nickel. It was funny. The relevance is that it scrapes the back of my bindings and I've torn it back open boarding. But it's just about healed (no pun intended) now!

as I had mentioned in the East Coast WOW thread I had spent july 5 in the ER do to two torn stomach muscles that I had previously pulled two weeks prior, I have done alot of stupid stuff in 37 yrs and had alot of injuries (10 yrs of football and 2 totalled vehicles) and let me tell you july 5 I seriously considered death being better than what I was going through. Feeling much better now, sneezing and coughing suck, but I am going to rest until the big East Coast WOW aug 21-23 and see what happens. Getting old sucks or maybe it has to do with being out of shape either way both of them stink! everybody rest up and get better the good season is half over (at least in ohio) that is depressing.

I'm still nursing my torn achilles (sp) tendons from Memorial Day 2009 - mega whopper face plant, left shoulder and lower back always hurts (20 years now) and now that I'm getting more air boarding both my knees just started hurting.

I figure I have to choices, ride in pain or not to ride, I choose to ride.

May 14th 2010 - helping my parents put speakers up on their new outdoor kitchen...ladder fell out from under me and fell 20ft on to concrete. I broke my elbow, two bones in my wrist, two bones in my hand, my knee, seven bones in my foot, three broken ribs and a punctured lung (All on the left side plus I'm left handed)...Two months to the day tomorrow and I'll be hitting the lake for the first time since the fall.

Speakers at 20'? That's a concert hall, not an outdoor kitchen!
