High pitch noise

Recommended Posts

I have a high pitch whinning sound at low speeds that sounds like it is coming from the general area of the V-drive or Tanny. Happens at about 3.5-5 mph. any suggestions as to where to start?

Did you just have your prop reworked?

Funny, I did just get my prop reworked, and now that you mention it, I have a whine that's different than it used to

be at low speeds. Curious what the prop rework could do to cause the whine?

Could be prop sing in your case.

Scroll towards the bottom. Prop Sing

Yep, my foils do the same thing when we tune them. You can take a sanding block & lightly go over the trailing edges of each blade & it should reduce this whining.
