Gelcoat Turning Yellow

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Just noticed the other day that the white gelcoat on the back of the boat above the rear seat has some yellow spots. It seems to be only in a few spots and not all over.

Im thinking this is the sun breaking down the gelcoat and my question is what is the best way to prevent this from getting worse, and is there a way to fix this issue.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

I had this same problem. It turned out to be a form of scum. I used the bathroom cleaner "the works" and it came off. I sprayed it, scrubbed it and sprayed it multiple times. Good Luck.
