23 LSV Wake Surfing

Have been working on the perfect wake surf set-up but have not found it yet.

Currently using factory wake surf setting plus 2 fly high v drive sacs (400lbs/ea) in rear locker area.

Current speeds around 10.6mph.

Wave is decent but a little soft.

Any insight would be appreciated.

not enough weight.

my friend johnny schultz uses a 750 in the trunk and then a 400 v-drive on top of that, a tube sac under the seat and a 750 on top of the seat.

i assume the 23 will need even more as it is bigger and more difficult to sink.

Agreed.

We've an '06 LSV and I'm not sure of the newer "surfing settings" but here is our set up and we get a really decent 12-15 foot long 3' wake. Really rideable for any skill level.

-All stock tanks full save for the right rear.

-750 in the left rear locker

-two 330 ski locker bags on the left

-500 right behind the front transom (between the dash and glove box area)bow would work, but it would roll around probably.

-500 on rear left seat

-everyone on the left

-we've messed with wedge settings and found it effects shape only with that much weight.

Good Luck! You're gonna be super stoked when you get more weight in that thing!

have much smaller boat, 21 vride but have the wake nailed......

500lbs in the belly

400lbs on the right corner side / rear seat

750lbs in the right locker

wedge down (only have floating wedge so no ability to set)

10.2 mph

had 6 people in the boat yesterday and with the above weight and the people all to the side it was huge, was able to get way back from the boat

What year is your boat and what engine does it have. These things will make a big difference on how you weight it.

I have a WS23LSV and have been surfing it for only 500 hours engine time but heres how we do it.

Hard tanks removed and replaced with 750s plumbed in

so - say for regular toeside surfing

750 in the trunk

2 - 300s under the seats - basically from back seat to observer.

1000 in the bow - or if folks want to ride up there we'll throw a 750 on surf side

350 in the ski locker (plumbed)

At least 4 VAB - if not 400 in the port side seat and 400 in the back seat.

Wedge - mines manual - thats why so much is in the bow.

Speed depends on lake conditions but starts around 10.7 and can be as much as 14 depending on what the rider likes.

But starting point is the speed where the face of the wake clears.

The wave tends to get longer as speed increases.

Speed of 11-12 yeilds 3-5 board length surfable wake.

Now of course this is with the highly coveted V25 Diamond hull.

but its a good model for just about any v-drive boat

Ok so try this for surfing. Do you have the Wake Hull or Diamond Hull, the following is the setup for the Wake Hull?

Full MLS ballast except non surf side.

750 sac (or biggest one you can fit) in the rear surf side locker.

400 under seats in front of the 750 sac

Wedge deployed and 3 clicks up from the all the way down

Speed about 11.4 mph or slower if you have a board that won't keep up but there will be alot of push with this setup.

Here is what your wave should look like if you have the Wake Hull and about 3 other people in the boat sitting on the surf side. I recommend all Fly High ballast sacs.
