oil alarm

Just replaced 383 hammerhead engine with the same. all of a sudden at 40mph oil pressure read below 20psi....pull back throttle and no problem. sensor issue? where would I look for relay sensor?

Sure it didn't get replaced with a automotive block? Indmar wants around 10K for a 383 hammerhead. So you would know if you got the right motor because your pocket book would be a lot lighter Sad.gif

This is your oil pressure switch (turns alarm on)

This is your oil pressure sending unit (gives data for the dash/ecm)

Both are located right next to our oil filter, can't miss them.

Was the correct oil used? Manuals call for 15w-40 but Indmar issued a service bulletin to change all hammerheads to Straight 40w oil. Also is oil level appropriate? Too low would be a obvious issue but too high and you can cavitate the oil and thin it more with all the air that gets trapped in it.
