I tried the new place... I was lonely there!!

I talked a friend and my kid and a couple extras into going down to Elephant Butte Reservoir in NM over spring break.

I found all this change when I went to post my pics. So I've kind off held off a bit.

Anyway the first day was about 60 degrees an 52 water temp, and windy. So that basically sucked. After a bit of just cruising around getting used to the new ride and all the ballast controls and messing with the stereo we found a bit of a sheltered area and tried surfing. Burrr..

The next day was worse, and kind turned into a beer drinking day

Finally on Friday it warmed up to mid-seventies and the water warmed up to mid- fifties, and the wind slowed

We tried the wakeboard a bit but it was still to rough to do much but just hang on. Then we broke out the new Air Chair. I was able to get up and kind of bounce along on the board. I eventually crossed the wake both ways and started telling my buddy to speed up. We finally got to about 22 kts and the thing wouldn't 'fly'. It was however every sensitive and eventually I got into a nasty oscillation and got slammed down pretty hard.

Saturday our last day was great, the wind was off and we got to about 80 air and 60 water (we found a shallow bay with warmer water). The kids wakeboarded and I (having had my pride hurt by the stupid air chair worked on that some more).

All in all a pretty cool spot.

I loved the boat. It's super nice to have the ballast all automatic, no more hoses and pumps and bags.

The HH380 made me happy. Lots of power even with all the ballast full. It sure sound aggressive too.

The illusion tower has solid, no flex, and no loud banging noises like someone had mentioned a while ago, even in as big a water as I've ever been in a boat of my own.

Love the Illusion Bimini to. Enough shade, but high up so it doesn't give that whole congested feel. And it's solid!

I haven't figured out Pics yet, but will post when I do..

What a nice looking boat!! Looks like it was a beautiful day.

I don't see a foil in the second pic?? just a head and some flailing arms.

I've only been on an Air Chair once and I managed to get up, but that was about it. It was squirrely.

I know the helmet looks STUPID, but I got all scared after I slapped that cold water with my face the first time!!

Nice boat, I like the simple color scheme, very classy. Looks like a nice day... I can't wait for it to heat up more here. Supposedly we will have a few 70 days next week.
