EXT Cats - Resistors added to O2 Sensors

Had a "service required" warning turns out it was a O2 sensor error. The dealer added some resistors to the O2 sensor wiring as per a TSB.. anyone had this done does it affect anything... performance, fuel consumption etc?

I've had a "service required" warning blinking for a month now (can't get the dealer to come out and fix it). Mine is also a EXT O2 sensor. Indmar says it's a simple 5 minute software update.

Had the update done last fall also.... I didn't have the issue pre software upgrade. Hopefully problem is gone.... can you still get into the perfect pass and ballast monitoring... seemed to me the service required warning on the screen wouldn't let me get into the menus.

I can still use Perfect Pass and the rest of the display. I just have to keep clearing the service warning about every 5 minutes.

The issue is not with the O2 sensors which the engine needs to be able to run properly. The issue is with the post catalyst temperature sensors which are not critical to the engine's operation. The best solution is to recalibrate the ECM which is a very simple job for a dealer to do with his diagnostic computer. The addition of the resistors was an earlier solution that we no longer recommend since the ECM calibration is available.

You are correct is was the post catalyst temp sensor... my mistake. They did the update last fall at winterizing then the service light came on the first run this spring... strange that the update would actually have me "moving backwards" per say as they now have done the resistors after the ecm update. Is there any negative effect to having the resistors in place instead of the temp sensors (fuel usage or performance). Should I have the resistors removed and temp sensors returned to the circuit?

The post cat sensors have nothing to do with the performance of the engine. The engine really doesn't care whether they are there or not. The ECM is just looking for a resistance load in that circuit and if it gets it from the sensor or from a resistor,the ECM is happy.
