Could any one tell me the wake characteristics between these two hulls? I am looking at a 2000 Sunsetter LXi with the SV23 Diamond hull at 21'8' long and 93.5" wide and comparing it to a 2000 Sunsetter Lx with a SV23 Wake hull at 21'0" and 93" wide the Lxi is 100pounds heavier? I have also seen on line a 1995 Echelon LX with a SV23 hull. I live a few hundred miles from each of these boats...any thoughts.

Depends on what your intended use is. The SLXi is one of the best slalom oriented crossover boats available. With a wedge & some ballast, it delivers a nice wake intermediate wake for boarding. We really enjoy ours.

The SLX is also a nice boat. The extra 8" on the LXI is all trunk. You will notice a difference in the wakes. The SLX will offer a slightly better wake for boarding. You will notice the difference more at slower speeds.

I'm not sure, but believe the LX has a different trunk accessed from behind the rear seat. The LXi's trunk is accessed from the platform.

The Echelon is smaller & is a full-on slalom boat. Even though it does have the SV23 hull, it was one of the premier slalom boats of it's time.

Take a look around, there should be some examples of each closer to you than you can look at - even if the price/color/options are not right to get a better idea of the layout of each boat.
