Leak somewhere! Please help!

Recommended Posts

I have an '01 V-Drive that takes on a small amount of water when docked during the day. It is not a lot of water but I am nervous that the auto bilge will some how not turn on and I will have big problems.

Has anyone ever heard of this? What could it be?

I put the plug in and put in some water in the boat to see if I could find out where the leak was, but nothing happened, I saw no leaks. Thanks for your help.

I wet slip my FXI for a week at a time and check the boat every other day rain or shine. I also have a friend on the opposite side of the bay it's kept on watching it too. Typically when the boat has been sitting unused for a day or two, the auto bilge kicks in for a minute or so as soon as I step on the swim platform to remove the cover. As long as you don't turn off the battery switch, you should be ok. Every inboard owner/dealer Ive talked to has said the same thing. We have a shaft coming directly out of the hull of our boats. Some water is going to find its way in.
