We are new to our 247LSv the wife and I are learning to surf kids have been doing for a while with there dad. Anyone have a good setup for wake surfing with out adding sacs to the boat. Or do I have to add sacs. The boat have right, left, centre and bow tanks and power wedge. Will this make a good wake stock or do we need to upgrade.

Thanks

Pat

We have an 07 247 and are beginner - intermediate surfers. The family surf off the left side. Full Left, Center and Bow, Ballasts, wedge down. We move everyone in the boat to the back left corner. When we have just the family it is a mid size wake with the stock ballets but when we load it up with ~16 people the wake is huge.

Don't you have maliview? i thought it was standard on 2010s and if you do then go to rider presets and there should be surf right and surf left already programed in. hope this helps and have fun :surfing:

Malivuew is an option not standard. I don't even know why they set those presets in there because they are wrong and not optimized for the boats. I changed mine right a way.

We do have Maliview so just stick with the presets or can we fine tune the presets to make a better wave. never had to buy a boat until this year because we had such great friends with boats. We do thank you for all of the info.

You can edit the presets to fine tune the wake to your liking. The biggest issue is the wedge location on the preset, the wave is washed out. Try the wedge 2 or 3 clicks up from all the way down, full MLS except non-surf side. Then stick everyone over on the surf side, heaviest people in the rear corner surf side.

I have owned four Malibu Boats since 2006. My first was a 23. I have now owned 3 247's. They are the best wave maker in the business. You will need additional ballast to achieve what is possible. The above threads should help. Rockon.gif party on wayne...

We usually surf with the bow, center, and whatever side rear tank the persons surf side is. But sometimes, we notice that the wake becomes almost unridable, and when that happends we drain out the front MLS.

As for people, have most of your people sit in the boat on the side the person is surfing on, and i usually put it so the sun deck is full with people sitting on it, but sometimes use those people for more weight in the boat, and only have 1 or 2 on the back.

As for fat sacks, you don't need them with these boats, but they do help. If you were to buy some, have your biggest on in the surf side locker, and another on under the seats not the surf sides.

As for the wedge, i personally use it 3/4 down. This will provide the biggest wake.
