Warranty Transfer on 2008

Just purchased a used 2008 that was deliverd in June of 2009 to the original owner. I don't have the manual in front of me and was hoping someone could answer a question. I noticed this weekend two issues with the boat, some cracks in the gelcoat and some issues with how the windshield on the passenger side is aligned.

Do I need to transfer the warranty to me to get this covered under the bumper to bumper and/or what is the coverage for the gel coat? In searching the forum some people are saying one year others are saying two years? Thanks in advance!

I believe the gel is 2 years. A member on here was recently quoted $800+ to transfer the warranties but would only have 1 year left. Since you have 2 years left (1 on the gel) I would suggest doing it.

Yes, It would cost $860 for warranty transfer. I decided not to go for it because everything works fine.. It would be diffcult to claim on metcraft parts because it is out of business... Yes, I am gambler... You must send it to dealer for warranty transfer within 7days of purchase or delivery..

seems to me the bumper to bumper 3 year coverage should follow the boat. Never heard of a transfer fee before...I will probably go ahead and do it would cover me until June 2012...

I had a year left on the bumper to bumper and about a week left on the gel coat...and transferred it. Cost was $800. It was approx $300 for the bumper to bumper transfer and $500 for the engine warranty transfer including the required mechanical inspection. Paid off for me $750.00 of gel coat repairs, and over $4000 in other repairs. There is alot to go wrong on these boats but they are really cool when it all works properly!!! For me.... part of it was the previous owner did not care for his stuff and it showed. But that is the risk of buying used.
