I posted a few days ago about the temp. gauge on my Response LX not working properly. I have replaced the temp sending unit, the thermostat, but the gauge is backordered from Malibu. Since there is no dealer within 200 miles I normally order from Bakes. Is there another place where I could find the temp gauge cluster. I am leaving for a boating vacation in two weeks and would REALLY REALLY like to have an accurate temp reading. Thanks.

If the part is on backorder from Malibu then I think your best bet is to find a dealer that has one in stock. It might take you 10-15 phone calls but once you find one I am sure they could ship it to you before your trip.

Good luck!

If you cannot get it from Malibu just go to a parts store and get a 3 gauge cluster that you can mount on the motor somewhere or temporarely under the dash. Not to pretty but works and will keep your mind at ease so you can enjoy your vacation.

Parts back orders have been a royal pain this year, with dealers and Malibu not stocking as much, vendors have cut back a lot to survive.

Not sure if you placed a back order to get in line for one but I would so you can at least get it replaced soon.

We can test your gauge at Bake's (just pay shipping) too if you want us to verify that is the part gone bad, because your dash computer could be the culprit too.

Or the cannon plug? Did you verify electrical continuity from the back of the gauge all the way to the sender?

all my gauges died the other day on my 07 malibu. and still waiting for help on that problem! but i got pissed and went to autozone and bought a temp gauge kit, took out my drain/knock sensor plug on the side of the block and screwed the guage set up in. it took about 5 min to do, and i had a temp reading!!! filled up with gas and away we went. if all else fails i guess you could do that!
