Fish Finder on your Malibu

Ok I know I am going to really hear it on this but I dont care, I am practical.

I bought a really nice color GPS/Sonar unit for my duck hunting/fishing boat and I am thinking that I want to get another set of cables, tranducer, and bracket and set it up so I can move it to the Malibu.

Does anyone have a fishfinder setup in their Malibu?

Yeah, mounted in between the trolling motor and the hatch I added in the center MLS tank so I could use it as the livewell. Not much beats a color view of the bottom of the lake!

I installed one only to find my LSV had spit it out onto the garage floor overnight...

OK, a serious reply. I have a friend that mounted a GSP unit on the right hand side in front of his throttle. He moves the unit back and forth between his SeaRay and his bass boat. The company he bought it from sold him a complete 2nd set up so he could share the head unit. His is a Garmin. Nice unit about 6" square.

Well I bought the new transducer and all the parts to be able to move it between the two boats. However, my wife talked me out of it.

She said that she didnt want to be tempted to fish out of the Malibu because she thinks that I would freak out if anyone got any fish blood, guts, or hooks in the boat.

She's probably right. I guess we will stick to fishing in the little boat.

Do you think I could find my car keys and anchor at the bottom of the lake with one of those sidescan sonar contraptions?

I think I will have to add a fish finder to my Malibu! zzbutler you are da man!

You mean you were actually considering FISHING from the Malibu? I thought maybe you were just into electronics. . .

Man, I'm glad you're wife can talk sense.
