Replace regular lights with LED

Yes you can. I have done it on my VLX but don't have the info in front of me to help you with bulb #s. I bought mine from Superbright LED

So you used the same light housing on the bow and tower and just replaced the bulbs with LEDs?

I put some LEDs under the gunnels on my boat. I took the LEDs out of a broken LED light bulb. I had to solder a resistor inline. I think it was over 600 ohms. I looked at the back of a superbright package to get the right one. LEDs like 2 volts so you have to hold back 10 with the resistor. I gave an LED 9 volts and it harmed the LED.

All my bulbs were replaced in the original sockets and voltage. 3 years now no problems.

Does the bulb just unscrew from the tower light and the bow navigation lights? You just call them with the bulb numbers and it fits right in same socket?

Tedro,

Check out MexTex's thread below. He explains a lot of what you are wanting to know, and gives you a good product list to complete the project. Hope it helps...
