Another Power Wedge ?

Recommended Posts

I have a 06 VLX with the power wedge.

The wedge gauge reads full down all of the time.

The wedge will deploy without being underway. (normal?)

The wedge will raise underway but not while sitting still. (normal?)

I contacted my dealer. They indicated that I needed to fully deploy and fully retract the wedege for the gauge to recalibrate. I did this and nothing changed.

I have read references on this forum about going to the service mode on the digital gauge and pull up the wedge calibration mode. This does not come up on my gauge. The only service screen that comes up is "Instrumentation".

The wedge seems to work fine but we really never know where it is other than the feel of the boat underway. you can't see it's position from the trap door. You have to hang off the platform to see if it's up or down.

Any ideas?

FWIW and from what I've read, everything sounds like it's functioning properly except for your gauge, sounds like it does need calibrated some how but I can't help with that.

I went to settings, wedge calibration does not come up.

I have a 2007 VLX with the power wedge and it's the same for me... the wedge calibration does not come up. I believe it's only available starting 2008 models.

There is this documentation I found from Bakes (http://www.bakesonline.com/images/MediaLibrary/PowerWedgeCalibrate.pdf), but "CALIBRATE" menu does not come up on mine.
