My 08 LSV will arrive tomorrow! I checked with my BU dealer for warrany transfer cost. My boat still have one year left of bumper to bumper warranty. The cost will be $500 for both Indmar and Malibu including lifetime hull warranty PLUS $360 for service. Total $860! Is it normal? If so, Is it worth?

Take a look at this thread....specifically post 18

For what it is worth, I bought an 08 last September and did nothing regarding the warranty. I have not had any problems yet...

Woody,

Make sure you read the LIMITED lifetime hull warranty. Gelcoat cracking is just covered for two years, I believe.

Yeah, I know Gel coat warranty is over..

My 2 cents...I transfered the warrenty on my boat & engine with 1 year remaining...and never had a problem...ever! That said, it really boils down to how much you've done inspecting the boat prior to purchase, and how the previous owner(s) maintained it. If you feel good about those 2 points, save your $860 and use it to buy gas!

Murphy's Law Article IV, subpart 13 says "if you don't buy it, you'll wish you would have, and if you do buy it, you'll wish you didn't."

How much time do they give you to transfer the warranty...30 days or something? Might want to find that out from your dealer and get it in writing.

7 days after delivery date!

How well was the boat inspected before the purchase? Take those seven days to do lots of research on here and put the boat through it's paces. Then make your own decision, are you a gambling man? 1 year will be up before you know it!!
